December 15, 2020

As the COVID-19 Pandemic continues, it continues to take its toll on us all. It has dramatically impacted our residential and personal supports programs. Our residential and personal supports staff have been burdened with additional shifts, long hours and reduced staffing supports. They happily have continued with Christmas plans and will work Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with our consumers.

In an effort to be fair and share the load, Day Hour Staff and Administrators will be required to work New Year’s Eve, 12/31/2020. This day will be a regular workday for all staff, working your regular work hours. Day hour staff will continue to have off on New Years Day, 1/1/2021.

For those of you working in the homes on New Years Eve, I challenge you to make it a fun day for the consumers. Be creative and have fun, bake, play games, make it a time to remember for our consumers.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Executive Director

Day Program Update: December 4th, 2020

To begin, we want to extend to each of our consumers, how very much we miss you. To our families, we appreciate each of you and empathize with the stress our closure has created. To our amazing staff, we are so grateful for each of you; your flexibility and your dedication. Our greatest desire is to return to normal and have our program fully operational for all.

As you all are aware, the COVID-19 positivity rate continues to edge up nationally, as well as locally. In addition, the upcoming holiday season is projected to have an additional negative effect, causing cases to potentially surge. Therefore, we feel it is in the best interest of our consumers and staff to keep our Day Program closed until January 8th, 2021. Employment and Personal Supports services will be continued and evaluated on an individual basis. We will plan on a gradual re-opening of the Day Program on Monday, January 11, 2021. To keep attendance numbers low and ensure social distancing, we will return utilizing our alternate A/B week schedule. Initially, only day consumers will return. We will continue to serve our residential consumers in their residential homes.

Although we are tasked with ensuring health and safety measures are met, we understand that our continued closure places additional hardships on our consumers, families and staff. We will continue to monitor the positivity rate and re-evaluate our decision in the best interest of all.

Additional updates will be posted to our Website and Facebook. Program Coordinators will reach out to families to ensure everyone is up to date with all changes.

We encourage all our consumers to attend our daily “Show” to connect with friends and enjoy group activities. If you feel that your loved one would benefit from a smaller contact group, either on-line or by phone, please let your Program Manager know.

Wishing you all a Happy and Safe Holiday
